The Startle solution:
• The music curators mapped out new, themed playlists — energetic, positive, dance-floor hits & bright, sparkly synths with summarised tempos (≈ 90-120 BPM) that reflect Schuh’s brand personality.
• Four core playlists: Mellow, Discover, Certified, Throwback — each with distinct mood / function (e.g. relaxed browsing, new artists, familiar hits, nostalgia), plus special playlist moments for Black History Month, Pride, etc.
• Signage overhauled: Startle handled the complex setup of multiple screens in stores (portrait & landscape), enabling central control of content and scheduling via the same cloud-platform as their music.
• Audio + visual sync: for example, during Schuh’s autism hour, lights dim, volume lowered, mellow playlist kicks in - a sensitivity-aware customer experience.
